A Review of Some of Baguio’s Hottest Restaurants

Okay, so I was lucky enough to snag a 4-day holiday in Baguio with my family. Knowing that it would be my first time to experience Baguio in 2 years, I was looking forward to “taste” Baguio too. Apart from the yummy ube, I was confident that there was something more – and I was right.

Say hello to gloriously silky hair with Herbal Essences Hello Hydration

I thought all Herbal Essences was good for was its fragrance. Boy, was I wrong!

As you all know, my hair is a constant victim of heat-styling and hair colouring, and as a result, it tends to get dry from time to time.  I cringe whenever I feel the roughness of my hair (especially the ends) at the end of the day, knowing that it desperately needs a hot oil or some sort of hydrating treatment.

Enter Herbal Essences. I first came across their new product lines in a specialty shop. At first, I was tempted to go for Dangerously Straight, a product set that focuses on keeping hair straight and frizz-free. However, I decided that the main priority for my hair was moisture and hydration, and so I decided to buy Hello Hydration, which focuses on rejuvenating dry and damaged hair.

I have to say that the packaging for this particular line of products is sooooo attractive. I love simplicity of the bright and solid colours, as well as the catchy product names.

Jugo Juice: Meal-in-a-Smoothie

I admit I was a bit apprehensive when I passed by Jugo Juice in the Podium (Ortigas Center) on the way to the office. This was partly because I was sick and tired of juice and smoothie shops claiming that they made 100% all-natural juice and they end up tasting like water with a lot of sugar and artificial flavors.

However, Jugo Juice seemed different. For one thing, I was totally attracted to their colorful and attractive display. Their menu showed the contents of their smoothies, and there were signs indicating how many servings of fruit each order contained. And okay, I have to say, all the combinations looked DELICIOUS. So I decided to give it a try.

Damaged Hair from Heat-Styling or Hair Coloring? Worry No More!

I only got into dying my hair about a couple of years ago. Since then I never looked back – getting my hair colored (by myself or with the help of a friend) became a habit of mine. Every three to six months, I would dye my hair brown or auburn. Additionally, I am a sucker for hair straighteners. So constant hair coloring PLUS hair straighteners that are used every day… you do the math.

As you can probably guess, my hair in its normal state is total FRIZZ CITY. I could never go out with damp hair because it dries in whatever direction the wind blows it, add to the fact that it goes all wavy the wrong way. I happened to chat with my cousin about this dilemma of mine when she casually mentioned that she used some hair cream by Cream Silk to solve her hair damage problem.

I knew it was something I had to try, and so I went to Mercury Drug to purchase Cream Silk’s Treatment Cream of damaged and dry hair. A pot costs around 200 to 300 pesos, and it was a generous amount, I tell you. I have been using mine for nearly two months and I’ve only gone just about halfway down the pot.

Finally, A Sight for Sore Eyes.

I work a very time-demanding job, and so I always tend to work late into the night, and even into the wee hours of the morning. I started this job with fresh, bright eyes, ready for the corporate world. Fast foward a month, and I looked like I was in the running for the Darkest Circles Under the Eyes Award, not to mention the Puffy-from-Lack-of-Sleep Eyes Award.

Thankfully, a few weeks ago, I was aimlessly looking around in The Body Shop in Eastwood and came across this tiny pot called The Body Shop Elderflower Eye Gel. Curious as to what it actually was, I looked closer. Inside the pot was this clear, unperfumed liquid gel that was supposed to soothe tired eyes.

Find out what happened when I tried it after the jump…
